Trying to decide on a 1000 pt Eldar list that is take all comers and will perform well in maelstrom oriented missions. Worried about facing some AV12, alot of MEQ, and maybe some other biker/AV10 spam. Also some nid and IG players so might end up facing some minor hordes or a AV13 now and then.

HQ:
Farseer Skyrunner - Jetbike, SInging Spear, Spirit Stone of Anathlan, (then either Fortune or Divination)

Troops:

Windriders (6) - Warlock w/ Singing Spear, 5 Scatter Lasers

Windriders (5) - Warlock w/ Singing Spear, 4 scatter lasers

Dire Avengers (5)

Fast:

Warp Spiders (5)

Elite:

Wraithguard (5) - D scythers, Wave Serpent w/ TL scatter lasers, shuriken cannon, ghostwalk matrix



I figure this gives me 3 always fast moving units that can score me objectives, quarters, deployments zones, etc. They can be resilient with the 2+ cover saves or can put out a lot of S6 shots to pen AV10/11 or kill marines, while the singing spears and wraithguard give me a bigger punch if needed. The dire avengers will be my cheap sit in the back unit. I could drop the wraithguard to add few more bikes/war spiders and swap the wave serpent to the dire avengers but I worry without the WG I won't have any reliable way to kill hordes or pen AV 13/14.

If the Dire Avengers are merely sitting back on an objective, perhaps Rangers are better with their better cover saves and range? They could be useful in damaging high toughness creatures or potentially pick off characters in large units.

I would second the rangers over the 5 Avengers - or drop the 3rd troop altogether to get a few more Spiders.
