I was just looking through Imperial Armor 8 for the Orks and realized they dont have HP listed. I looked on Forgeworld and their download doesn't have it listed. I've seen several lists on Dakka that include gunwagons and am curious how they can play these without hullpoints. Is there a FAQ somewhere that I am unaware of?

The game hasn't always had Hull Points, so there exists models and rules from that time. In a sense, vehicles back then only had 1 hull point. The Gunwagon wouldn't really be legal now, so there's no official way to play with it.

HIWPI, most model's hull points are now loosely tied to their size, with 3 hull points being the most common, so I'd use 3. If the Gunwagon is more like a Land Speeder or a Vyper in size, then go with 2 hull points. If it's the size of a Land Raider or a Battlewagon, go with 4.

I started playing at the start of 5th so I know that there didn't used to be HPs. I was just curious if there was a FAQ somewhere (maybe from Adepticon or another big tourney) that listed their HPs because I see people playing them and it doesn't seem legal to me. Gunwagons are pretty amazing for their pts and stats and was hoping there was a source for their HPs. I think they should have 3 HPs because they're supposed to be somewhere between a Battlewagon and a trukk.

I had never heard of them myself. If someone brought it out against me, and it didn't have hull points listed, I'd ask for an FAQ that states how they were updated. Is it possible that they're using these models as stand-ins for something else?

Well that's the thing, they dont actually have a model. Their stats were in the IA:8 book. The free download with updates for IA:8 on the foreworld site doesn't have them listed and I think it's because they in fact do not have a model. But like I said, I still see them in lists from time to time here on Dakka. Guess I'll just have to stick with the Big Trakk.

Is there a chance the term "gun wagon" is slang for a weapon heavy battlewagon? Like dakkafex, or flyrant.
