So, I want a nice looking crisis suit commander that looks suitably commanderish, And I dont like the mono pose finecrap commander GW has put out.. So I was curious, What do you all use as your commanders? Do you have any conversions? Does anyone have any tips on making a nice commander model, or good alternatives to the regular GW commander?

The Shas'O'Kais from DoW conversion tutorial is a good one (I used it but edited it slightly)

I use the old Farsight model. I modelled him so that he's standing on a dead ork with one foot, as he looks out over the battlefield with his plasma rifle resting in the crook of his elbow, pointing up (like the guardsman on the right in this picture).

I ended converting the commander model a bit to make him stand more upright. I really didn't like the leaning stock pose.

Thank you very much. It was a really simple "conversion", just sand and slate for the rocks and the dead ork comes from the Thieving Grots kit (the grots also make amusing objective markers )

Next one I've got planned is Commander Brightsword about to finish off the wounded space marine from the space marine casualties kit with a fusion blaster shot to the face

CrazyK, it's good to see another commander from the Vior'La sept

I just got a hold of a Forge World R'Alai model to use as my commander. ^_^ Probably gonna use him as a regular Crisis Suit commander.

This one:

The different design makes it stand out a bit more, and I stuck it on a weighty scenic base so it stands a bit taller than the others.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.
