Don't have a video, just a cool moment that happened in a game recently.

DE vs CSM

My Succubus went in to try assassinate Typhus on turn 2, this ended up in both Typhus and his retinue of Chosen being held up till the very end of turn 4 (Typhus down to 2 wound and Succubus finally carked it) where an already battle scared group of 3 Incubi and 1 Klaivex came into action, Klaivex accepted challenging Typhus, lost. Next assault phase, the 3 regular old Incubi ended up killing off Typhus and his 4 remaining chosen in one foul cleave as if to say 'What was all the fuss about' to the dead Succubus and Klaivex. Sadly it was turn 6 and the game ended only scoring 1 lot of D3 victory points for killing the CSM warlord.

My favourite recent moment in 40K, thought I would share it.

Post if you have any similar experiences where your generic men killed off the enemy that a pricey model had had no luck in doing before hand.

Thanks,
Salvation

Hardened Veteran Guardsman

Warrington

Playing Eldar with my 251man foot guard. I am getting wrecked.

The left flank had collapsed, and I had about 50 men in the centre who were surrounded and had 2 wraith knights and a avatar bearing down on them whilst 2 hemlock fighters blasted them from above out of them.

On the right hand side I had a 3 man platoon command squad and a 9 man steel legion infantry squad. In a last ditch effort they charged down a guardian squad 10" away. the officer and his men were cut down by overwatch, but the steel legion made it! They slaughtered the guardians with nearly every attack hitting and wounding and only lose 1 or 2 in return! They then consolidated 6" towards a vauls wrath artillery battery with a farseer and then charges that next turn needing another 10" charge.

The guardsmen kill 2 of the 3 crew in the unit and take 1 casualty. The Sgt challenges the Farseer who doesn't hurt him (she must have been scared by the Ork head he was holding ) and he does a wound to her. The Eldar fail the Leadership test on double 6 and then roles a 1 for initiative and I roll a 6, cutting down the unit in the final roll of the game!

I have now painted that Sgt to have a golden helmet and sword, promoted him to an officer and given him a bolt pistol (and made the survivors from his squad his command squad). He definitely earned it

6000 pts of Foot Guard

"I once gave the order to one of my platoons to fix bayonets and charge a squad of genestealers. If they believed in the emperor hard enough they could win... I don't think they believed enough..."

this happened to me yesterday.

Asurman vs Transcendant C'tan.
Rolls to hit, 2 hits. Needs a 6 to wound the C'tan. Make ones six. C'tan fails the invulnerable. Passes the We'll be back, but FAILS his Ld test. Removed from play. 10 Avengers + Asurmen are unscratched.

I had a lone guardsman kill.... wait for it..... Ghazzy Thraka. In Close Combat. He was the only survivor of my unit after they had been shot by a group of nob bikers, and got INSANE HEROISM on his Ld check (double 1 ftw!), he then charged ghazzy, and killed him in the luckiest round of throwing die since the beginning of time.( and unluckiest for my opponent.) he'd been previously wounded a couple of times (I forget how many) by scout sentinels hitting him with autocannons,- though he took 2Wounds from the lone guardsman.

this event occurred during a pick up game at my FLGS, and has since earned my guard the title of 'Headhunters'- having assassinated a character that is now a LOW...

-The trooper has since been awarded honours on his Flak Armour, and a golden plated lasgun....

The Emperor Protects!
