Hello there,

The long forgotten, asleep for aeons Tomb World suddenly gloomed with green light and the mechanical, white and red cohorts emerged from beneath the ground to rebuild their Empire! Among the legions of beings made from living metal and wielding the gauss weaponry, three entities shrouded in mystery are lurking… The C’tan awoken as well!

We really liked the unusual, warm colors in this army – you see not often the white and red Necrons! Also, the customer wanted to make our Angel of Death from the upcoming game The Edge we’dre developing (check the link – www.intotheedge.com) made as one of his C’tan! How do you think he’s fitting in this Necron army?

As always, click on each image to see the bigger picture!

I disagree, winterwind. The colours are perfect, the paint scheme was a great one. Good work!

I disagree with winterwind85. I think these colours work really well.

Good contrast in them. Bright, not something I'd do myself, but it comes out really nice in an army wide shots.

I dig the color scheme. The only thing I don't like is the C'tan shard following it. The C'tan should be their own cosmic colors. Like... old cosmic comic book characters with galaxies and crap in their bodies.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I like it quite a lot. My only problem is that the white looks rather flat from a distance.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

Personally, I don't care for the colour scheme, but as long as the customer is happy.

The white is vibrant and looks really nice with a hint of blue.

The red also looks pretty awesome.

But the colours put together is a little overwhelming IMHO.

Also, the basing is kinda lame IMHO. It looks pretty cool on the tesseract labyrinth, but on everything else it kinda looks like black cork with a little bit of green OSL. And not like they are standing on the broken earth above the tomb world.

happy wargaming,

I love the colour scheme. And I love the subtle white highlights on the red that make it look shiny.

Now I want to see black and red Necrons - Sith Necrons!!

The Angel of Death fits perfectly.

Good scheme IMO (I play BA though, so I'm biased), and good paint job. I'm not a fan of OSL as it washes out some details to me, but that's my only qualm, and my guess is the customer wanted it.

The painting is really good and I feel that the colours work well, they are quite powerful which draws your attention to the model, which is good.

The bases however are pretty sloppy, even if that is what the customer wanted you haven't excused it in a good way.

The color scheme is fine. What is killing you is the lack of highlight/lowlight that accompanies a good airbrush base. having good airbrush skills impresses half the community. Brushing it right after impresses another quarter of the community. As for that last quarter. I will never know what the hell they want.

This is a awesome sig

There is minimal brush work on these... OSL isn't supposed to cover the luck of details IMHO but it must be used to spice things up here and there. Here all I see is red white and OSL with green to create contrast and make the army look okish.

Anyway I guess this is tabletop quality and if the customer is happy then everything is fine I guess

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

PM me if you are interested in Commission work.

I agree. This is becoming a trend among some of the studios out there. Airbrush, airbrush, airbrush - minimal brush work. I get that the former is fast, the latter time-consuming, but I think it really robs the models of the depth they would have otherwise.

Also, too Christmas-y for my tastes.

I love the C'tan and the paint scheme, what I don't like is the excessive airbrushing execution. I think it makes a lot of the models look flat and bland and I'll eccho with the posters above, that it robs the models of great details.

Well, regarding the airbrushed OSL - while this is somewhat of a trend in our studio to do a lot of source lighting, in this particular commission it was the customer that wanted every orb or spheric element to be the source of greenish light - we even discouraged him to omit the lighting on several places - such as joints in the Triarch Stalker.

Extensive OSL is the technique that fits someone's tastes and for the others it's not a great technique - and in commission painting it's the customer taste that is determining the final effect. We're open for commissions that are OSL-heavy or OSL-light as well.

Hello,

Remember the white and red Necron project? The army grew bigger in the meantime!

I hope no one here is afraid of spiders, as the army got itself a new leader – a Spyder Lord! The Spyder body looks really well with a Necron Lord, making him a massive, imposing proxy for a Destroyer Lord.

Take a look at the models!

Very nice paint job! Reminds me of the M-tron line of legos from when I was a kid.

Really nice work, I like the color scheme quite a lot. It's unconventional and something very unique compared to what you usually see.

My Necron force is the standard metallic/green. I'm not creative enough to do stuff like this . . . :(

Excellent work, keep it up.

They sure look striking and the quality is great but it makes me kinda sad when there's so little brush applied even to single characters. Sadly, as someone mentioned above this is becoming a trend among painting studios.

The color scheme is absolutely gorgeous, but you should really clean up the mold lines on some of the models, as it detracts from their overall quality.

I humbly must agree, the mould line on the Lord I saw only on the photos afterwards - more caution while assembly required in the future!
