Hopefully somebody smarter than me can answer this

I am in the process of starting a Tyranid army and I wanted to paint it as an established splinter fleet . . my Chaos Marines are Black Legion my elder are Iyanden so I like to paint according to an established force.

I went to Lexicanum and I liked the background on Hive Fleet Medusa (they had Space Wolves as their primary opponent) but Lexicanum did not show a paint scheme.

On google images and I found the cover of the Lone Wolves Graphic novel (which is supposed to be about the fight with Medusa) this shows an all black gaunt

Does this mean that Hive Fleet Medusa is now officially all black?

Or does this mean nothing and artistic license ended up with that scheme?

Thanks

Probably artistic license, but the closest thing to official there is from a glance around. So you could stick with it or come up with your own, either seems fine.

Thing is even within a splinter fleet nids will take on different coloring based on all kinds of factors including the individual planet they are on. With nids you can literally paint whatever you want and call it whatever you want.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
