Do you think anyone would get at me if I took standard fire-warriors, gave them rail rifles, put them on a drone base and said "these are my sniper drones." 3 finecast drones and a spotter for 40$ seems absurd, and I'd much rather blow 37-ish dollars + whatever it takes to get the railgun bits as apposed to 120$ for some finecast dribble. I also rather paint fire warriors than drones and rail guns are cool looking as always.

Yeah, but I feel like it would help separate them from normal pathfinders.

I'd rather run drones as Pathfinders, because I'm American.

As long as your local meta is super anal about using proxies, go for it. I think that's totally fine.

Buy a "Gun Drone Squad" and use the loose Pulse Rifles(if I remember right, there is a Pulse Rifle with no hands or anything attached to it) from your Fire Warrior Squads mounted on one of the Gun Drone hardpoints for the Pulse Carbines. Remove the other hardpoint so the rifle is offset and voila, you've done a unit of Sniper Drones which are immediately recognizable as something different to Gun Drones.
