I've only now discovered the Planetary Empires hex-tiles, thanks to MiniWarGaming.com's campaign, and because a friend and his wife seem excited about them, but I had never even entertained the thought of owning them. That said, converting the gaming we do at home into a persistent campaign seems really fun.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Mostly, how are the campaign rules? Do they add something with meaningful advantages/disadvantages over time, without outright breaking the game?

Id make your own. Much cheaper, look nicer, and can bu custom made per each individual campaign you wish to do.

Many guides to do this online.

As a side note, the miniwargaming campaign is really cool.

I do drugs.
Mostly Plastic Crack, but I do dabble in Cardboard Cocaine.

Where does one find the campaign rules though? I assume they aren't all expected to be homebrew?
