Hello there,

As we’ve heard the news of upcoming new Adeptus Mechanicus army for Warhammer 40000, we were eager to see (and more importantly – paint!) the new miniatures. And after they finally came, we put our hands (with brushes) on them! See what we have done with each of the new miniatures – and there will be more!

As always, you may click on each photo to see the bigger version.

Skitarii Vanguard:

Sicaran Ruststalkers:

Ironstrider Ballistarius:

Sydonian Dragoon:

Onager Dunecrawler:

Kastellan Robots:

Imperial Knight Warden:

I really like the Vanguard, the blue cloaks and plasma go really well together.

Not too keen on the robots and knight, they seem to be painted in a different style.

Red and green reminds me of the Necron army you just did. While the colors are a great mix I don't care for the Green looking like Airbrushed green. The Airbrushing is way overdone IMO. Seems a bit rushed.

Yeah, too much random OSL type effect where there shouldn't be any. Honestly, the overdone OSL turns me off from most of your stuff, and I wouldn't do a commission from you simply because of it.

The vanguard and ruststalkers are great.

The other stuff looks really good but is spoiled by the OSL effect. It's a poor colour choice, not particularly well applied and over used.

Is that.... a screw? On the Ballistarii base? That is hilarious and oddly fitting, if so.

Just spotted that!

Distracted by the overuse of OSL. Ruins the effects for me. the Orange cabling on the Onager is pretty jarring as well (IMO).

I would consider you guys for a commission with the caveat of limited or no OSL.

A very good take on the mechanicus. The OSL looks out of place on one or two of the sets but it looks great on the onager, and the mega rust scheme on the main hull is fantastic, in my eyes making a lacklustre model look very cool indeed.
Kudos!

I love the Dunecrawler. Looks like it just unexpectedly walked out of a pile of metal scrap.

Yea that Dunecrawler is fantastic, by far the best model on show.

Good job.

I agree (based upon the feedback from many sources) that the Kastelan robots have too much of the lighting effects on them - we've overdone the job slightly.

We've also tried several painting schemes and techniques to achieve various effects - from heavy object source lighting to worn out-rusted feel.

I do like the most of the new mechanicum models, especially the way you have painted them. Like everyone has agreed a little overboard on the lighting effects, but these are still very nice models.

I like the OSL, except the green one just doesn't do it for me…
the models at the beginning are all really cool, and that dune crawler thing is really well done especially.

Thank you for all the feedback - I must admit that we went overboard with OSL on several models - especially the Kastellan Robots. In the future we'll be placing ligth sources more carfefully.

And the Kataphron Servitors are joining the fray.

On the contrary I love the extreme weathering on the Knights. Adds a ton of atmosphere to the models and makes me almost forget that they are toys...

After the mechanical forces were dispatched to the battlefield, their commander came to direct them in person

Take a look at the Magos Dominus!

Fantastic work on the Kataphrons and the Magos Dominus. I must say I don't like the amount of OSL and airbrush in your work, but those are much better.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.
