So the next step in our local campaign is soon to kick off, we now have 1250 points to use. I can take 3 troops and have 2 coins to use on either a heavy, elite, fast(not 2 of the same). There are 30 players so needs to be TAC but the main thing I see are Grey Knights, Necrons and other Tyranids.

HQ
Librarian-Terminator armor, storm shield

Troops
10 man Tac squad-Melta gun, combi melta, missile launcher, Rhino
10 Man tac squad-Melta gun, Missile launcher, Rhino
5 man tac squad, Combi flamer, flamer, all replace bolter with bolt pistol and sword

Heavy
3 centurion, missile launchers, lascannons
Landraider
Fast Attack
Stormtalon-Skyhammer

So the thought was to put the 5 man squad in the landraider, allowing the centurions to not get ALL the focus. I have never run centurions so unsure to run grav or lascannons. Also not sure where to put the librarian but right now thinking to put with the centurions to tank some.

Could also take the 5 man squad out and put in a techmarine but not sure if thats worth it either.

Thoughts?

So Centurion Devastators are actually Heavy, not that it really matters right now but it might later in your campaign.

I think that your Melta Tactical Squads kind of have anti tank locked down for 1250 pts.
Since grav cannons are the same cost as the lascannons, I might be inclined to just switch them out so that the Cents can cover heavy and elite infantry as well as be a back up versus vehicles if necessary.

Otherwise I like the armour saturation with the LR and rhinos.
It's just a shame you can't save some points on the flamer tactical squad by making them assault marines for a free rhino in your FA slot. :(
The Stormtalon is a great, versatile unit though, keep it for sure.

Good call, grav might be a better option overall. Especially if I run into more Grey Knights. Any thoughts on where to put the libby.

You could stick him in the landraider with the flamer combat tacticals and roll on biomancy to get him into a close combat fight, or roll on telepathy and stick him with the cents if you get invis. Either one is decent

Can a Libby fire out of a landraider?

I don't think Landraiders have anywhere to fire out of, that's why if you put him in there I'd gear him for a combat roll.
If he was attached to the Centurions you could be tossing out psychic shrieks as they walk up the board though.

I know if it was a witchfire I would have to aim it so wasnt sure if a buff or something could be used without a fire point.
