I'd opt for 3 source actually, using a webway portal instead of baharroth with the wraithgate. 3 farseers, eldrad, and a portal archon will get the job done, while allowing for more obsec jetbikes, maybe a fiendpack, and some other goodies. Right now, it's too many points into one unit that doesn't have splitfire and can be avoided.

That being said, it is a fun army to play. Change up its support and it will be better, I think.

It's strong, so obviously we're messing with margins here. I'm not an expert on the new book; but I'll say this: As scary as this list is to many armies, in the mirror match (which will be absurdly common at GTs), you're at a disadvantage to an Eldar player who has diffused his power over more units. He'll have plenty of D as well. And he'll probably have more bikes to "rend" you.

Deathstars will always punch their weight when well constructed, but I really think that when the meta settles out, it will be the age of MSU.

Sadly the Webway portal only works when entering play from reserves or ongoing reserves. So it wouldn't stop your gate from scattering. Also, Baharoth has Hit and Run.

I think even Eldar shooting struggles vs an invisible, fortuned, gating deathstar. I do have two other units packing D and 6 units of Jetbikes (3 obsec). Plus Eldrad for deployment shenanigans.

I think the top tournament list at the moment is probably Demon triple star. Beating that is going to be all about bringing your D to bear on the table on the right place... Can this do it? No idea.

I presume you're running the Wraithguard with scythes?

Deamon triple star you say? What does that list look like?

Drones. Dogs. Screamers. A herald of Khorne. A herald of Nurgle. Two heralds of Tzeentch. Fatey.

Unless they nerf grimoire whenever 7th Daemons release, it's only going to get stronger. The two biggest tournament circuits in the US (Nova tree and ITC events) are changing ranged D shooting to -1. So no ignoring invuls outside CC. And even tho marines and cult mech and spam grav, Daemons don't care. There's no natural counter. A well protected Cullexus helps, but you'll probably still lose.

Haven't seen how it does against a fully optimised scatter laser spamming Jetbike gun line.

Poorly I would Guess. 10 S D shots are overkill in 90% of situations against that list.

Was talking about the triple star list. The above list can hurt a lot of bike units in one turn and the blob, if it gets its buffs up, is quite handy against scatter lasers.

Yeah, is the tournament circuit in the UK nerfing ranged D at all? If not, you're set against triple star. And even if so; you've got plenty of psychic dice to contest cursed earth/forewarning et al.

Of course, that's a two-way street; they could deny your GoI. You going to try to roll multiple sources of gate against high psychic production players?

Interestingly Caledonian Uprising (which was the biggest 40k event this year) are running an event this Summer and they have been delaying declaring their comp for weeks. Don't know whether it's GT or ETC bids that are delaying their thoughts on it, but it seems like their is contention going on.

I think Superheavies are getting limited or banned but D will play as stands. But that's just my personal guess.
