So I got in a good game vs a local guy at my FLGS and we played a maelstrom mission. I was running
CAD:
Farseer - spear, spirit stone
spriitseer - rending pistol relic
5 wraithguard (cannons) - wave serpent - BL, cannon, holo fields
10 avenger - exarch pw/shield
3 shuriken cannon jetties
Aspect Host:
6 dragons - exarch wave serpent BL, cannon
6 dragons - exarch wave serpent BL, cannon
5 spiders - exarch
LOW:
Knight - cannons, 2 scatter lasers
He had a super unit of the 5 smasha cannons, 5 battle wagons, some Gretchen, some boys, 2 trucks. I was pretty worried about the unit of artillery and the one battlewagon with a warboss in mega armor, 3 meganobz, painboy and mech.
So I had slotted to go first and what happens, you ask? Yes, I got seized on AGAIN! He ended up killing the wraithguard's serpent for first blood, which was pretty frustrating. Footslogging 12" range d-guns isn't my idea of a good time. They ended up holding the middle of my line (obj 4) and killed a truck and like 5 boys total haha. I only ended up losing 2 wave serpents and the unit of warp spiders. My jetbikes ended up failing a morale for losing a guy, but passed the next turn after NOT running off the board! Papa death was the MVP though. He 1-shotted 2 battle wagons, killed the warboss and swept the ENTIRE artillery unit after 1 round of combat. The wraithknight is a very good unit. I am finding him more and more and auto-include. As much as I don't want to have units like that, he draws a large amount of fire from my other units, which are VERY good too, so they are allowed to do their thing. Having 2 units of dragons puts loads of pressure on enemy armor and infantry alike (kind of wasted on light infantry, but it still dies the same way).
In the end I scored 10! vp on the bottom of turn 5 to take a 21-15 lead on vp, while it ended 20-3 on the KP front. Actually if I counted warlord and line breaker I won 23-16 on vp. Oops. I like the list. What do y'all think?
