Subject: Allowed to model rudeness?

Hi all,
I have 30 odd ork boyz models that i modified so that they are all sticking up their middle finger, and i want to rally them beneath a "rude boyz" banner.
Question is: Is this tournament legal or allowed in a lgs setting? Does it fit with the whole ork chaotic/irreverent thing, or will i not be allowed to field them?
Regards,
CC.

Depends on your tournament organizer or local gaming store.

This is usually the most common and accurate answer for these types of questions. It really depends on who you're playing with, where and for what type of setting.
Do you play with a large amount of younger kids? Or do people seem uptight? I personally have a handful of people in mind that would be fine with it, and a few that might have a problem. Feel it out or ask around I suppose.

GW used to model multiple pieces with the middle finger raised. It was a distant time. A better time. I say model two banner bearers, one without the raised finger. Most people won't even pay too much attention to it unless you point it out. If you talk with the TO ahead of time and he ok's the banner...hell, go with it.

They cant do anything about it imo, models are yours, they are GW models, and GW themselves has sculpts with the same pose..

I don't think it's a problem. Also, for your interest, the middle finger is also canon, at least for Imperial Fists and Necromunda.
In the novel Space Marine by Ian Watson, there is a scene. The story revolves around a trio of Imperial Fists recruited from Necromunda. One of them is an Underhive Ganger.
There is a scene where these 3 Space Marines climb into a semi-wrecked Titan. The crew were killed by a very lucky shot or something. As a desperate measure, the 3 Imperial Fists actually eat the crewmen's brains to get their knowledge of how to pilot a Titan (using one of those 19 implants).
The Marine that was an Underhive Ganger controls the Titan's fist, punches a Gargant or something, then uses said Titan's hand to give all the enemies the biggest middle finger in 40k.
And this was an Imperial Fist doing it. So Orks should not be a problem. If people ask why, you can cite this story to support you.

I can think of at least three/four models, offhand, in the CSM range along intentionally modeled the same way. If GW can do it, so can you, dang-nab-it.

Hi,
The issue is that i have 30 odd boyz modelled in this way, not just the standard bearer.

GW also sell a grot actively gaking in a helmet. I think you're sound...
What I would do it check a few days beforehand, and if the TO objects, just pop a little folded paper sleeve over the offending article on the figures.
