Looking for ideas here. I play Epic 40k, and drop pods are pretty hard to come by without forking over lots of cash. Im not very good with cutting small plasti card patterns for ones and id like to keep the shape as close as I can to the 28mm Drop pods.

Anyone have any idea from possible 40k BITS. For height wise it is about 1 inch or so. Can be open or closed, whatever one is easier!

An inch tall? I'd have thought smaller than that.

If you want something cheap, try a local craft shop that sells beads - there are a zillion shapes, including some polyhedral shapes which, with the bottoms sliced off, would be pretty reasonable counts-as models.

Hmm, this would also be a fairly easy 3D printing project, if you happen to know someone with one...

Those are nice. Annoying that you have to buy a set of 15 though...

Have you ever made a silicon cast and used to to make a resin model? I could mock up a 3d model of an open drop pod designed to be cast in a simple gravity mold and put it up for sale on shapeways for you. You'd order a single pod and make your own (or order as many as you need but if you know how to cast it will save you money)

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
