Hi all, not a huge fan of nurgle, but i am curious about using plague drones in my tzeentch daemons 40k army.

i have a cairn wraith model (from WHFB vampire counts) i have been using as a tzeentch herald, but he could easily be a nurgle herald with that rusty metal scythe.
any thoughts on how to either convert plague drones to be more "tzeentchy" or perhaps a suitable counts as to use in their stead that would match my cairn wraith herald? i have been using the plague drone leg bits heavily in a number of my conversions for the army, so it shouldn't be too hard to justify large bugs in the army. (my mech walkers are all spidery, my spawn have spindly spider legs, and my discs were inspired by pond skimmer bugs.) my group isn't gakky about conversions, but very few of them take modeling liberties and i think my interpretations should be roughly the same as the original to best avoid conflict.

What about screamers with Wraith riders ?

You could use a combination of Green stuff and paint to make them look bloated/infected.

Tzeentch is all about mutation, so I think you should raid your bits box - so long as you end up with a hovering monstrosity around plague drone size, which also looks somewhat putrid/rusty/infected to reflect its Nurgle heritage too, you'll be fine. It could even be semi-mechanical, for that daemonic engine cyborg look.

my discs are based off the round icon piece from the chaos war shrine in WHFB, with drone legs to look like water skimmers.

hmm, maybe put fantasy champions who look tzeentchy and/or nurgly on there to reflect that they are a fighty unit? (they could double as summoned heralds if need be)

or i like the idea of the wraith guys on there. however, one thing i always wondered with the "change bringer" units from past editions/games, why would something that floats need a disc? how would they use it? hell, that would even be a problem for me with the flaming chariot if that big flamer was jump infantry...

i've also thought about using the old metal sculpts for daemon princes, i think the 2nd ed. ones? the ones that are significantly smaller and had 40mm bases. but that could really start to add up $$-wise. and i'm not sure they are similar enough...

Reaper makes some floating brains with mouths and tentacle arms. Give those a shot.

Fluff-wise, I thought the disc floated, and the creature on top was using it as a free ride. But if we're talking Chaos, anything's possible
