Ok earlier today I played a game with my lizardmen my lv1 priest rolled windblast as his spell, I proceeded to cast the spell on an ogre cannon , the spell went off and pushed it back far enough to knock it off the board (destroying it) however I was informed this was not possible so as a compromise the board edge was treated as impassable terrain for the result of the spell (even though it isn't) which needless to say cost me the game as it was the only spell my wizard knew. Anyway I was wondering whether this really was the case as the spell doesn't mention that it can't push units off the board causing them to be destroyed.

Units cannot move, voluntarily or otherwise, off the edge of the board unless something specifically says they do(pursuing fleeing enemies or fleeing themselves)
Your Wind Blast doesn't destroy stuff if it would hit the board edge.

Wind blast is great for conventional war machines that cannot move or shoot. When moved by wind blast, they count as having moved in the next turn and cannot shoot.
Against those silly cannon-chariots... not so much.
