So ladies and gents it's the end times for Warhammer 8th edition with 9th right around the corner most of the guys at my local store are considering jumping ship on fantasy all together to go to Kings of War.... I'm the only want that wants to get the starter set at my local hobby store but that is some months off and by then it may be to late to save the boys when I bring th mini-rule book around.

So in order to make the tranisition into 9th edition I came up with an idea. Why not have a warhammer battle royal with the players paying for a portion for the warhammer rule book's price and the winner getting to keep it. I want to keep this kinda low in points though since we have only 4 hours at the shop in order to play. I've taken this to the guys and they are receptive to the idea, but we are trying to figure out how this would work? Some of our armies are required to take certain characters but with the time limit we are un able to play the full 3 games as with other tournies above 1000 points.

In all honesty its a good idea but if your friends are looking to get out then maybe it is not such a good one.

I would try convincing them to at least wait for 9th ed.
