I played Orks for a year and sold them. Now I am looking at trying out SM. I am looking for something crunchy, but at the end of the day I don't want bad feels.
On that note I am running a Knight, Centurion Star and Bikers

4 Biker Squad, 2 Grav Guns, Vet SGT, Combi-Grav, Melta Bomb, Attack Bike, Multi Melta. 215 (Attack Bike might be a waste)
4 Tactical, Melta Gun, Vet SGT, Combi-Melta, Melta Bomb, Drop Pod. 140

Heavy: 540

The CM goes in the Bikes. The Librarian and Coteaz go in the Centurion Squad. The Knight Holds the center and the DP provides back pressure.

Thoughts?

Any advice is welcome.

Is this army so jacked up it is passed redemption?

I think this looks pretty good, similar to a list I've run. Stormtalons might give you more bang for your buck than the raven but thats just personal preference.

How are the Cents getting around the field? With a 24" range, they have a relatively small threat bubble.
Coteaz's anti-reserve power will be pretty awesome with 20 grav shots when it works out!

The Stormraven.

Currently I am planning to use the Centurions to protect the Knight from alpha strike if they have drop pods.

If not they will trudge down the field and provide awesome board control. I might need a better plan if we are playing long table, but short and angle it will be fine.

Do Storm Talons cause enough damage? Every SM player at my shop runs Storm Ravens so I have never seen then in action.

I'd drop the CM for a captain instead. He's cheaper and does almost the same stuff.

Is his orbital not worth the points?

He's got to be stationary and it's especially bad if he's on a bike. If he's on a bike he has to be mobile.

I thought a bike makes him relentless. The main draw back is that he would have to drop it on the same target as his squad.

Should I trade the Attack Bike for 3 more Bikers, 4 Tac Marines, Hurricane Bolters for the Storm Raven or keep it?
