Hey all! Figured I'd get some feedback on a panther I just completed. I've never worked in this kind of scale before so I'm looking to see what I could improve. I wanted to make the tank look as close to their scheme as possible on the box. My other option would be doing a winter white wash over a German grey body. I have yet to try that at this scale, but have done it successfully on 1/35th scale tanks.

What I was going for (minus the dots):

What I got:

Do I have too much going on? Should a tone down the camo lines to have more singular blotches/blobs instead of thin stripes? Or should I try the winter camo and see if that looks better?

the original would appear to be air brushed and your done with regular brushes, i find it near impossible to get airbrush results with a regular brush. tho yours looks fine model all the same.

I think it looks nice, if anything give it a nice wash to pick out some of the detail but stellar job!

Thanks! I can't start on the next one until this weekend. But I'll post picks depending on what I try differently.

Yeah yours looks nice. If you wanted to soften up the colors to get it a little closer to the pictures I would suggest dry rushing some yellow/dunklegelb over everything.

The original looks like it has a slightly yellower tone to the colours, but yours is an extremely decent job. It's really easy to overdo camo, particularly at that scale, and wind up with a featureless mess...

Just finished the second Panther tonight. I think I like this one more than the first with the changes that were suggested. The changes here include making the camo patches larger and fewer, making the sand color more yellow, making the red areas more red, and adding a brown wash to the recessed areas on the armor after brushing on my weathering powder. So far it has got the look I am going for. I have 1 more panther and then I am going to see how it looks on the 2 Jagdpanthers I am making !

What do you think?
