Which wh40k space marine Faction is superior and why are they, its an simple question and response,i expect debating. I personally vouch for the blood ravens, and crimson fists due to the fact that they suffered incredible loss, and balls out awesome. The crimson fists where almost wiped from the face of rynns world,by some freak missile accident which obliterated over half of the chapter, but did this stop them?,no it didnt they screwed the orks over, and are slowly rebuilding. The blood ravens are also having some crazy problems, their chapter was almost wiped out,and half of the survivors fell to chaos, causing the rest of the blood ravens to redeem their selves in an all out war on chaos which is still ongoing, not to mention theyve been deemed renegades.

Define superior.

If you mean the most powerful then I believe it would be dark angels or black templars, as they have ignored the rule against building legions and as such have far greater numbers of marines compared to the other chapters.

"Ultra"marines are thus "beyond the ordinary" and therefore superior to the average.

The OP seems to equate superior with resilient or over coming adversity.
Whilst its a nice yardstick it hardly covers the whole definition of the word.

Personnally, I vote Ultras becasue they're damn good all rounders.

Iron Hands, because our primarch survived and the Salamanders & Raven Guard SUCK*.

*I'm going in spirit of what they believe.

In all seriousness, I do prefer the Iron Hands. Why?
- Cybernetics.
- The flesh is weak.
- It seems like it'd be a very dreadnought heavy chapter... and I love dreadnoughts...

Y'know, fun stuff like that.

Gk are superior. Every Marine is a psychic and they are immune to the tainting of chaos. They also have the backing of the inquisition (the most powerful organization in the imperium).

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

The Black Templars are by far the most powerful single Chapter, since they number above 6,000 marines while having a fleet that is equally large. No codex chapter can even compare.

In battle? Grey Knights hands down. I nerf Raven guard, ultramarines, blood angels, white scars, etc.
But a couple of dreadknights and all those f ing 2+ saves and the fact they're all psykers. I'm not scared of drop pods or krumping rhinos, but Dreadknights are in a league by themselves.

WAAAGH!!!

True for single chapters - but the dark angel successor chapters swear allegiance to the dark angels above all else, which makes them as a faction very comparable in terms of size if not bigger than the black templars.

If your answer isn't "Angry Marines" or "Reasonable Marines", then you're wrong.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I know, right? I don't understand why so many people wanted to be wrong and argue against my early post. Sounds like a bunch of people need a power foot to the temple or a sack of doorknobs upside the skull.

And anyone who says Space Wolves needs to get the middle finger so hard that their head 'asplodes!

The Salamanders fight for the people and manage to not be glory-hogging toolbags at the same time. They win.

I personally prefer the Ultras, but I can see why others would like the other chapters.
I find something pleasant with being the "average" Chapter (excluding Ward's butchery of anything good and holy about the Smurfs!)

Chapter tyranids of course! Just make sure you put shoulder armor on your nids with their colors/symbols to identify their chapter so other imperial forces recognize them. Everyone likes a hive tyrant with shoulder pads, a small cape and an iron halo.

indeed, the dark Angels technically number up in the area of 18,000 if not more and that's being conservative. In addition they have the largest supply of terminator armor of any chapter with whole companies consisting of terminators which is just unheard of. The space wolves wish they could outfit 100 brothers with terminator armor; and their a founding chapter, never mind successors. Dark Angels and successors are probably the most outfitted and equipped army and have stories that would fill volumes if they ever got into the hands of the imperium as their total shut ins.

Where the smurfs stories are known far n wide the unsung heroes of the Angels are the stuff of legends. Single squads have liberated worlds, lone scouts have ended Xenos invasions, and commanders have stopped armada's.

The only other army that I consider worthy of consideration is Crimson fists because the farmland bad mothers and their boy Pedro roll on up everyone backs the feth up. They are the masters of mean hustling and are just in general beasts.

DA army: 3500pts,
admech army: 600pts
ravenguard: 565 pts

The Iron Hands are easily tied for first in my mind. That's why I use their tactics and supplement. Salamanders gain 1 extra point though because they were my first army back in 3rd.
