I am in the process of building a Great Crusade/Horus Heresy Era Salamanders army. I've just ordered my first round Forge World models: Vulkan, a full squads of Tactical Marines, full squad of Pyroclasts with a Rhino, and half a squad of Firedrakes.

What else should I look at fielding other 30k Players?

Well, fire drake terminators with storm-shields are beasts, also pyroclasts are a nice multi-purpose squad with a 2+ armor saves. So you're starting on the right track.

Cassian Draco in a dreadnought pod is a pretty scary unit too.
In general, veteran tacticals are a great addition to any army, give them the sniper USR and profit.

Since overall you get a nice boost to your Flamers and meltas, a bunch of pods for delivery would be solid. Rhino rush isn't a bad option either. Vulcan + termie chaplain + praetorian with EW mantle + firedrakes + Spartan with flare shields would murder anything.

For fire support, rapier batteries and maybe some artillery units would help you out for horde control.

Hope this helps.

Convert a Firedrake model to a Primus Medicae, then run in the pack with Vulkan and the Firedrakes.

If playing against other 30k lists, avoid melta weapons and focus on melta bombs - no melta rule, so they're effective in the Armoured Ceramite environment of 30k.

I second the artillery suggestion. Even a single basilisk will carve swaths out of the enemy if you can keep it up and running.
