So, this is sort of a two-parter, but they are somewhat related, so I won't belabor everyone with two threads. First, what's a good way to paint Eldar power swords? I've seen silver-bladed numbers, since they are swords, but I'd think Eldar make stuff out of wraithbone, so even the blades would look bone-color, or at least whatever color the accompanying wraithbone themes in your force are (AW armor is colorful, not bone-colored), and the Eldar skill, psychic stuff, and whatever makes it sharp as a sword, without metal. I have a custom Imperial piece with an Eldar Banshee Sword, and I'm not sure how to make it look; silver, possibly with the "power lightning or aura" theme over it, or go the bone color all across, and maybe not have it have an obvious power field.

The second one, how do you paint Eldar stones/jewels? Strangely, the question, at the moment, has little to do with the Eldar. I bought some Transformers, and one of them, a Hot Rod, came with a silver matrix. Not liking that, I'm trying to paint it up to look more like what you'd see in the cartoon, or inside the chest of a Masterpiece-class Optimus Prime, so it can go with my Galvatron, and while the gold shell is easy, and the arms are already silver, the "glowing blue stone" in the middle is proving harder, and I've seen some people who have painted Eldar stones that almost look to glow, and shine. Possibly above my skill level, but any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks all for any ideas you care to share.

Sort of an additional...I have a little issue that might be fixable. I need an Eldar power sword, but the one I was going to use is the one an Eldar Howling Banshee from the pewter days has, and so she is holding it in the right (wrong) hand, while the base model I am using is the Tempestus Scion leader (the Prime with the coat), and the left arm/hand of that model is just a little nub of knife. Cutting the pewter sword off its hand, just to try to glue it to a tiny bit of plastic, once I've removed the little knife from it, to then glue them both to the coat, and hope they fit is a bit daunting. Is there a more current-age Eldar power sword I might use, preferably held in a left hand, and what might be the most economically-feasible one?

Otherwise, I might need to go looking for a good Eldar ps stand-in. Any ideas/thoughts would be much appreciated.

You could use a wraithguard sword as they have them in left or right hands. It might be big for what you want. Search on Painting Eldar gems and that should give you plenty of results. As for the color of the sword. I usually see them in a blue or silver color, usually some form of NMM though. I would be tempted to paint them off-white if the color scheme is bright and have something a little different.
