I really like the way the new Harlequins work rule wise, however i am not a massive fan of how the new models are modeled. They are all jumping off Eldar ruins, which is a terrible decision because fluffwise it just doesn't make sense. Not to mention that Troop Master looks so much worse then my original. I don't know, they just seem to 'forced' compared to my finecast Harlequins. However, i am in need of another Squad of Harlequin (1 Light, 1 Dark, 1 Twilight) and i was wondering if anyone knows if the Harlequin kit and the Wych kits are compatible? The Wych kit is simply amazing, lots of movement and the armour would fit well with the Harlequin athetic if painted correct, not to mention the Blank Wych head fits right in with the Harlequins, as do many of the Wych weapons.
I'm not terribly good at conversions, so if it's to much hassle i will suck it up and just use the Plastic ones, but if it's possible I'd buy a Wych set to use as spare parts.

They should be compatible. It'll require a bit of trimming here and there, and you may end up needing to counts-as some Splinter Pistols as Shuriken Pistols depending on how many you do, but yes, it's far from the trickiest conversion going.

The plastic harlequin and watch kits mesh perfectly. And also, they look absolutely gorgeous painted up. Source: I painted dark Eldar and converted them up as Harlequin allies.
Seriously it's not even a conversion. They might as well be from the same kit.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

Pretty much. A little work with the masks from the Starweaver Kit (you get a bunch of leftovers) will easily set Wyches up as harlies.

The bits are quite compatible. My Wyches (only a 5man) use a few Harlequin bits, and my Harlequins (16 different troupers, 10 are plastic) use a few Wych bits.
I love the Harlie models, but hate the pose and all their jumping. But a little conversion work went a long way. Between 1 Harlie box, 2 Void/Starweaver kits, and 1 Skyweaver kit, I wound up assembling all the kits plus *10* Harlequins. Only a few have the stupid up-high-doing-stupid look they are intended to have. The only real problems I had?:
-Only 5 Shuriken Pistols. So I had to use some Specials where I'd have preferred more Shuriken Pistols.
-All pistols are for the same hand. So kitbashing with a weapon for that hand meant no Shuriken Pistol.
-Some of the legs (2, I think?) I couldn't come up with a simple way to make them look not stupid (not great at conversions myself).
A few (2?) don't actually have a pistol modelled, but only because theyd look better that way. IMO, not-modelled for Rule of Cool reasons count as default equipment.
