So, I've wanted to play Dark Eldar for a long time but have never had the courage to start the army but I've finally taken the plunge and would like to see what you guys think of my first list as i'm not sure on how to play them effectively.

Currently i only have the codex and one squad of kabalites and a raider so there is lots of room to change stuff around with, thanks in advance for you help.

Kabalites in Raiders with Splinter Racks are awesome for a Poison gunboat, and very potent against everything from infantry to MC.

Incubi are excellent, if a bit squishy (but, you are playing Dark Eldar, so that is to be expected)

Scourges are great for their haywire.

I would say drop a unit of Kabalites or two to get a Talos.

Drop the dark lances on the warrior squads; they can only snapfire if you move. Replace with blasters.

The reason i put darklances on the warriors is because the raiders are open topped so i was thinking that, that way i could get two darklance shots from each raider squad. But im not sure how good a tactic that may be?

And what load-out would you recommend for a talos?

I personally don't like the gun boats. I prefer minimum warriors in venoms with 2 canons. The boats are far to easy to kill and you have over 200 points invested in them...

Talos I like with canon since they always count as stationary.

If you're doing gunboats, go all in with a splinter cannon. Building units for two different tasks often leads to the unit being mediocre at both.

I'm not a fan of Archons - perhaps a Dark Artisan formation with webway portal will serve your army better. Trade in some warriors to get points.
