Subject: What does the Trasseract Vault brings to the table?

I'm playing on a tournament after being long gone from 40k to play WHFB isntead, so I'm not up to date with the new codexes, all I knew is that each was cheesiest than the previous one. And since I play CSM I really don't care as pretty much any codex has advantage over mine. Buuuuuuut, still I'm doing pretty well in the tournament and since the lists are up fro everyone to consult I looked at my next opponent one and he included a Trasseract Vault, however I have no idea what I'm going against. Is it a mobile gun platform? does it has any horrible thing that might suck me into the warp if I charge it?, Defense against meltas? Summons necrons?
Anyone could tell a little about what its roll is in a Necron army and hopefully how could I deal with it with my CSM vanilla army.

Is it a super-heavy? or just a Monolith with more HPs? Can I explode it with 1 lucky melta? I'm guessing not, as well as guessing it is AV14 like the monolith so that would mean my best chance are meltaguns and meltabombs.
Should I try to take it down? or just ignore it. I have 6 Wraiths to deal with as well

You shouldn't need to worry too much. The Obelisk variant is very nice for the low end of the superheavy scale, but upgrading it to a Tesseract vault basically adds the cost of a monolith to it, and all it gets for that is three hull points, a shooting attack so random it can't be relied on for any role and much, much larger blind spots between its Tesla Orbs than the more reliable version gets.

It brings a very large foot print, for good or ill.

On a flight stand though, so not really going to break much line of sight or get in the way of movement.

That would be the "for good or ill" part.

It has some heavy rng shooting, and it has a massive physical profile, you could use it to block Los very easily indeed.

Well my army is pretty much close combat oriented, spawns, bikes, raptors, zerks, plagues and CSM on rhinos.
All of my units will try to get into close combat as soon as possible except for 3 oblies, so I guess my best option would be to just ignore it? Once I get into combat it won't be able to shoot at my units and my few oblie shots will probably be best invested on other vehicles/infantry or even deepstriking.

If you sent your valuable killy units against it, you will not want it to be destroyed! Because when its last HP is lost. It is always the "Titanic Explosion". Which pretty much likely will bring your own units nearby with it into oblivion.
