I am looking for a good Rust Orange to paint my new Ad Mech Army.

I am looking for a deep orange similar to Texas University.

Any advice on brand and shade?

Is this going to be the prime colour? or do you actually want them to look rusty?

If you want them to look rusty I would recommend using pigments or powders as they are known. Generally I just buy a cheap pack of soft pastels from amazon (£3), crush them up and apply to a silver base.

If you want to go with generally a rust colour, I would recommend Vallejo range, they have some nice rust colours.

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

Another alternative if you want rusty is to dab on liquid greenstuff for texture, paint in dark fleshtone from game color (or your desired red/orange), and drybrush with leadbelcher (or your desired metallic). I do this for my Beastmen and it looks pretty good.

I dont think the OP is looking for rust effects, but rather for an orange that is similar in tone to rust.

I would look at the Vallejo Model Colour range. The selection of tones is very wide (and very good!). Maybe 851 Deep Orange, or if you want it a bit more subdued and even deeper, 805 German Orange?
