Would you care if i proxied Skitarii rangers as SM scouts?
They are virtually the same.
I could do a fluff thing where the chapter is heavily aglined with AdMech and their Scout company is entirely made of volunteers who go under cybernetic enhancement to make them more stealthy
Reasons why i am asking:skitarii rangers look cool, skitarii rangers are better in price (in money terms)

How are they "virtually the same"?

I wouldn't mind at all, but it wouldn't fly at a tournament.
Some might be confused by the fact that these are models with distinctly different rules. Galvanic rifles aren't something the rest of the empire gets to play with.

Alternatively, you could ally in some skitarii.

Remember, the Skitarii Maniple only needs 2 troop choices to be legal. 2 units of Rangers and you're golden for allying them in. And you get the option of the arquebus.
They also have Scout because of the Skitarii Maniple rules. They can't Outflank though. But they do play a bit like your own scouts.

Why don't you just replace the scout heads with ranger heads?

You should at least give them bolters

I could easily see this being possible and it would fly in a lot of tournaments, as long as you don't have any conflicting models to confuse them with.

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Eh. If you put the proper weapons on them, sure. They are not virtually the same though. Nor would you be able to explain it through fluff, given that no chapter modifies its recruits that heavily with bionics. Go for it if it's your thing, but don't try to force a fluffy explanation on it.

You're not forging the narrative hard enough there, buddy. Smells like heresy to me.

Having not seen the new Skitarii models first-hand, aren't they supposed to be quite a bit shorter than Space Marines?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
By the way, your fluff explanation would be plenty enough for me to play against them as Scouts. But that said, why would you add a bunch of robotics to something that's supposed to be quick and stealthy?

They're about a hand taller than marines. Supposed to by fluff standards? Probably.
