Tail-spinning Tomb Blade Pilot

In a chair, staring at a screen

This is a piece of fiction unlike all my others, I wrote this and improved it for about a month. I will be placing the first four chapters and the prologue here I am aiming for 300 views for the next four chapters. Enjoy!

NOTE: the prologue was written by one of the people who participated in my 'insert yourself' thread.

Prologue

Fir'dras smiled as his ion blaster spewed out more rounds into the pile of rubble the guardsmen hid behind. The shots seared through the debris melted the guardsmen in a heartbeat. They weren't the first to feel the wrath of his battlesuit, nor would they be the last. His men had been doing hit and run tactics on the fortifications the Imperium had set up in this hive city, but now was the time to finish it off and allow the Greater Good to be heard.

Fir'dras marched forwards, checking every corner and every window for an enemy, but found none. He heard the sound of footsteps and turned to see a group of soldiers and one gue'la with a ridiculous hat and had a sash. Fir'dras remembered the gue'la term for them: commisar, and was determined to bring him down. Fir'dras fired his plasma rifle mounted onto his right arm, catching a guardsmen in the gut. A second guardsmen cried out as his comrade fell to the ground, and the commisar fired a shot into the man's head.

Outraged at the casual execution of a soldier that was willing to fight and die for a cause, Fir'dras began firing his ion blaster, spraying plasma all over the entire squad, only wishing the commisar dead for his actions.

In the corner of Fir'dras' eye, he saw a little girl whimpering in the shadows, and he was determined to not let harm come to her. Trying to make himself a bigger target, he launched himself on top of a building, firing more rounds from his ion blaster into the guardsmen.

Thankfully, with their commisar being less than a puddle on the ground, and a fresh torrent of plasma coming their way, they started to give ground. One guardsmen with a desire for revenge at his friends being slain, threw a grenade at Fir'dras, but the throw was one a panicked one, and it fell short, landing next to the girl. Fir'dras saw what would happen to the girl, and launched himself in front of her, using his battlesuit as a shield to protect her. He fired one last shot into the thrower of the grenade, and prepared himself for the blast. He looked at the girl cowering before him, saw tears spilling down her eyes, and said "run".

Immediately, she took off, and managed to get behind a wall when the blast came. Fir'dras was sent tumbling back, and lay face up, sucking air through his teeth at the pain all over his body. He saw warning signs lit up all over the display system, but the battlesuit was still operational, for the time being. The girl came into view, looking at his form lying in the street.

"You saved me. I thought you were here to kill us, they said you were monsters." Her voice was quiet, and had an innocence to it Fir'dras was not used to.

"They lied. Come, let me show you the Greater Good."

It's going to be really cool to see all of the works pieced together into a story.

In the first four chapters their are two pieces from the insert yourself, and if we get enough views I will be able to add the others

At the same time stringing just two together was hard; I had to make the whole story fit in with the background of the pieces. For example, one piece could be against the Dark Eldar, one with the imperial guard. I'm not going to spoil the story, but in this case I used the ig for the prologue, obviously, and for another piece which was against another faction, that's what's happening as few months later.

Yeah, I can see how tricky it might be to link several stories all ogether with different enemies. It's pretty unlikely that a dark eldar raid would take place as tau invade a world that just so happens to be a tomb world, and some orks want to get in on the fight and anything else under the sun happening in that one story. I'm sure you can work it out there

Yeah, so far there's 4 factions mentioned in the story...

But I've made it sound that the tau have just taken over the planet from the imperial guard and some of the other factions would like to claim it themselves.

Alright, can't wait to see what you've come up with.

Chapter One:

Shas'O Tau'n Fir'dras stomped furiously into the command center, angry at the contingents most senior ethereal, Aun'O D'yanoi Iruth. While he respects the wise ethereal, he loathes the being for how well he treats Fir'dras' Cadre. Hastily turning a corner, he spotted Shas'ui N'Dras Doreth standing at attention, but without his pulse rifle.
"Commander, Aun'Iruth would like to speak to you about your latest contact." While Fir'Dras trusted the hardy veteran, he still disliked the complete trust he puts in the increasingly aggresive ethereal. Calmly following the commander, they soon both arrived at the command center, where all the contingent was controled. N'Dras stopped at the large blast door. N'Dras spoke into his com link, "Aun'Iruth, commander Fir'Dras is outside the command room. I will head to my quarters now." Aun'Iruth quickly replied, "Acknowledged, veteran."

As Fir'Dras stepped into the command center, all the earth and fire caste abandoned their consoles and stood at attention.
"My brothers, you are dismissed. For the Greater Good." With that, the earth and fire caste returned to their stations. Aun'Iruth stood from his chair, walked to Fir'Dras, and whispered,"This is no place to discuss a matter as important as the one we are in. Come," The ethereal briskly started a trot, his glimmering red cloak making his sleek honour blade standing out even more.

Fir'Dras took a place on the ethereals lavishly crafted couch, staring at Aun'Iruth.
"While I understand the situation you are in, commander, I am obliged to follow the proper protocols. I could not send reinforcements to that area because of the Gue'la armoured presence, and we both know very well that risking your whole Cadres' pride for one human cub is unacceptable." Fir'Dras replied hotly, "But they were your orders! We were to rescue the human cubs, and the Gue'la hid two full armoured combat cadres were stationed there, mercilessly leaving the cubs to fend for themselves." Aun'Iruth frowned and sternly told Fir'Dras, "Do not compromise your honour or I will make you a line warrior again. Come, let me show you your new veterans and heroes."

Wow, I'm glad that Fir'dras isn't just a little servant with how he acts to the ethereal. I didn't think the tau had the capability to just serve the ethereal caste without question. I'm certainly glad that is the case though. I also like that the tau call them gue'la cubs, it made me laugh.

Thanks for feedback, black jack! I enjoyed writing this, also, if you want to know chapter three is where the action starts

Sweet, I can't wait. Do you have anything featuring the alien allies of the tau at all, I wonder?

Not in what I've written so far, no. I want 300 views for me to start chapter 5
