A little sandbag fortification with a Heavy Bolter. It's made from Tamiya sandbags and twigs, on thick cardboard (it didn't warp too much).

Nice! Tamiya's good stuff. Maybe you can use it as a counts as Defence Line?

Matthew> That's a great idea, it's about the length of two sections of Aegis Defence Line.

It looks awesome, although I would have probably trimmed down the edges of the base into a kidney bean shape so that you could fit terrain more closely around it, and get rid of the inorganic block form. Other than that, it looks fantastic. Could we get more detail pics?

Really nice work. One question tho, why is the belt feed on the "outside" of the emplacement? Wouldn't reloading entail you jumping the sandbag wall?

The same reason they kept extra ammunition on the exterior of the tank in the final scene of Fury - DRAMA!

Mekugi> Excellent question! There are 2 explanations... well, excuses for this obvious breach of military protocol.
1: I'm no Einstein, and in this case the soldiers weren't exactly rocket scientists either. Which is probably why they are not there anymore.
2: I found that in order to place the ammo box and belt inside the emplacement, I would have to place the Heavy Bolter on a tripod behind the sandbags. This would take up a lot of space, and I wanted the emplacement to serve as a good position for infantry models.
