So I just watched Max Max: Road Fury, I always loved the serious but this one was just amazing and took me by storm

I am doing a Mad Max Dark Eldar Theme, I will have Coven and Harlequins with them.

Here is an Example (Mostly a "TEST")

Here is an Album of some more pics http://imgur.com/a/ZWnzW

Inside the Album is, A venom, A venom with a Blood bag, some Harlequins plainted to fit the theme and my HQ Raider that is DBL stacked

Let me know what you think and more to come later.

Awesome! Interesting to see some Mad Max related models that are NOT Orks for a change.
Any of those Dark Eldar pilots might say "Oh what a day! What a lovely day!"

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Those look great! I love how you've got "Max" chained to the front of one and everything.

Loved the film, love this theme. Orks are the obvious choice, yes, but DE and even Chaos renegades/warbands would work well.

Nice job.

All Raiders/Venoms comes with Lots of Poles, so I will have Warriors floating around with Poles like in the movie too

I've not seen the film yet, but this is fantastic. Really well done!
That colourscheme you've chosen really lends itself to those minis, even without knowing the inspiration.

Nice! Totally agree with the sentiment of being glad to see some non-ork post apoc love! DE are perfect for this!

Besides the pole warriors, what else do you have planned in that fever brain?

Im going to make a Display board, for pre game setting up, I am going to buy some cheap cars/trucks and "wreck" them on the board.

Im going to Make Trueborns and other Higher costed models have Chrome Mouths (They put chrome paint on there teeth/mouths when suiciding and asking other to witness them doing so) Sense Blaster Trueborns are very quick to dying I felt it be good for them.

And Im getting some Chaos Skulls with the Circles around them to place in some areas.

Other than that Im about out of ideas lol

YES! The Dark Eldar are perfect for Mad Max and I've never realized that before.

The funny thing is, as far as I remember the Dark Eldar fluff with their souls going to be tormented by Slaanesh is all against the Valhalla myths from Mad Max, right? Anyway, the aesthetics is a perfect fit. And the paintjob is great too.

I was only wondering, is it a deliberate choice with a muted colour palette? The Fury Road was saturated as much as possible, iirc.

I hope I didn't mess up any terms, I'm not an English native speaker myself. I mean muted colours like grey-yellow, grey-blue, grey-green, with small contrasts. Colours you see on a rainy, muddy day, and not in bright sunlight.

This poster is muted:

And this one's saturated:

Ah Ok thanks.

yes I felt something was missing, and this might be it, I will for sure looking into "muted" colors on it.

Any advice to get them to be more Muted?

I mean, the last Mad Max film felt less muted and more saturated. Sand was very orange-yellow, sky was very blue, and so on.

I'm not an expert on making colours saturated, I'm painting Necrons and I like them more gray! But I think that making the bases a bit more yellow-orange, with lighter highlights and darker shadows could help. Or maybe the skin of the guy with the gun could be more white?

But I have to admit, I felt brave to write a general comment, but I feel far less confident when it comes to giving good advice! I hope a more experienced painter than me will be able to write something here.

I like what you've done more than over saturated colors of the new mad max. I think that would be really tough to pull off. What you have looks more like the original mad max movies to me.

Your models are also somewhat reminiscent of the "Reavers" from the television series Firefly. Which is also cool and fitting for DE.
