hi all, was wondering if anyone had tried mixing ardcoat with a glaze and what the results were like, as I'm thinking of trying this out to tint clear canopies on vehicles.

I can't speak specifically for ardcoat and glazes, but I have added paint to varnishes to make clears. It works fine, you only need the tiniest amount of paint. One thing I found tricky was varnishes typically dry quite fast and go a bit claggy as they do, but it's not a big issue, they just aren't quite as nice to use as a proper clear colour like those made by tamiya or gunze.

Ok thanks for the info, I guess I'll give it a go to try it out. The only reason I'm not going to buy any clear paints from other brands is that there is nowhere for me to buy them from locally plus I have literally no money so I couldn't buy any anyway, but I do have ardcoat and glazes, which is why I'm going to give it a go, plus if I make it myself I can use whatever colour I like rather than a limited pool.
