Subject: [1850] - Eldar & Necrons

Powerful Phoenix Lord

My LGS has a tourney every month and half the players usually have some crazy shenanigans I am not prepared for, usually from Forge World. So this passed weekend I decided to play the following:
Eldar CAD:
Farseer on Jetbike
4 Shuricannon Bikes
4 Shuricannon Bikes
5 Scatter Bikes
5 Scatter Bikes
Crimson Hunter Exarch
Night Spinner w/ Holofields & Crystal Targeting Matrix
WraithKnight
Necron Canoptek Harvest Formation (x2):
5 Wraith w/ Whip coils
3 Scarabs
1 Spider
5 Wraith w/ Whip coils
3 Scarabs
1 Spider
----------------------------------------------------------1846 pts total
This was a 20 man tourney and pretty much anything goes (except 30K stuff) escalation victory points & warlord traits were used to give LOW a slight disadvantage. One guy even brought a Chaos Reaver titan. I went 3-0 as did 2 other players (1 of which had the Reaver titan). It came down to victory points and I won 1st overall by a good bit. All 3 of my opponent (Tau, then Nids, then Eldar) conceded by the 3rd or 4th turn. Had I gone up against the Reaver titan, I am sure I would have been knocked out of the running.
I am usually very against using Come the Apoc allies, but I have to say, if will be playing this list in strict competitive games from now on. This list is definitely not for friendly pickup games.
Has anyone else played, faced, or even seen a list like this in their area?

I am speechless. This may be the most brutal cheese I have ever seen (dont know about FW though).
Not sure what purpose the Night Spinner?

Distraction. I don't know why, but when I start putting down a Barrage Blast, people start paying more attention to it than they should. Plus I like the Night Spinner
I was trying to go as cheesy as I could go. Originally I had 2 Fire Prisms instead of the Spinner & Hunter, but I decided I need the anti-flyer more and the Spinner can hide better than Prisms.
The trickiest thing I discovered about this list is deployment. Have to start 12" away with both armies having such a large footprint was difficult. Keeping track of being 6" from each other afterwards was a pain too. I actually had to roll "One eye open" for the WraithKnight and a Spider once.

Interesting list. I have a guy at my LGS who plays Tau w/ wraiths and spiders for close combat and it works awesome for him. I have been thinking of trying it but was worried about eldar/necron relationship LOL. Maybe I will pick up the necron codex and give it a read and see if it is something I would like to do. Thanks for the report and let us know how it continues to hold up against other opponents.

I am going to give this list another go at this month's local tourney. But this time I am going to split the bikes up into smaller units.
Instead of 2x 5 Scatterbikes, I'll go with 2x 3 and 1x 4 (for the Farseer to join). This tourney has a few mission that require more troop units remain in your deployment, and another mission that has modified kill points as a secondary objective. In that mission, only units killed by Troops give up kill points.
Also there will not be Slay the Warlord, Line breaker or First blood in these missions.
