Ghastly Grave Guard

Hey guys, I was just wondering about the size of the Space Wolf Great Companies. I know it kind of depends on the Company itself, and it likely fluctuates from time to time. What's a likely average though? 120? 150? A thousand?
Currently, I have about 130 Space Wolves of various type. I'd love to play it as a full Great Company in larger games, but not knowing the number of Marines in one I'm not sure if that's a reasonable goal.

Between the last Space Wolf codex which gave a complete breakdown of Ragnar's Great Company and the Champions of Fenris supplement which gave a complete breakdown of Grimnar's Great Company, we now know that these two are 188 and 200 marines respectively. It is also known that these are the two largest Great Companies, meaning an average Great Company would be somewhere between 110 and 180 marines. Like all chapters, this does not include support staff.

There's all the support, serfs and there human troops who help guard the fang, crew ships and such.
So not marines but all in a great company might with all its marines, crews, serfs and such could number in the thousands
Marines are tip of the iceberg, or wolf berg lol

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

True, but that's no different from a codex chapter as well.

187 Wolves in Logan's GC. 180 in Ragnar's. Those are the first and second-largest GCs in the Chapter.
If you've got 130 SW models to field, you're more than covered for any of the other Great Companies... and the "big names" like Logan and Bjorn can always be visiting when a battle breaks out, if you want to field the heroes of the Chapter or from other Great Companies.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |
