Forgive me if I'm reading into this too much, thanks in advance for the feedback!

Eternal warrior, in accordance with the BRB states a model suffering and unsaved Wound form an attack that inflicts Instant Death, it only reduces its Wounds by 1 instead of auto reducing it's Wounds to 0.

Instant death, again by the BRB, states the Wounds are reduced to 0 "and is removed as a casualty."

EW doesn't remove the ID special rule from the attack and only adjusts the wound. It doesn't say it negates removal.

As a fluffy and causal player I have and forever will play that EW trumps ID, period.
Was there an FAQ at one point for EW and ID?

Why would Instant Death of two separate instances of what is functionally the same effect?

The "removed as a casuality" is there to simply restate what is done when a model is reduced to 0 wounds.

Simple enough, and an eloquent way to put it, if I may say so. Thanks!
