So I put a green tide list out on army list couple weeks back asking for advice for a fun list I made.
My buddy wanted to face the green tide. So for fun. I made an 1850 point list with just the tide.
1 stupid unit.

It's unbound my list. But.
Warboss with power klaw. Attack squig eavy armour, ragnorok choppa.
Warboss with Lukky stikk. Power klaw eavy armor.
Mad doc
3 warpheads.

140 boyz
10 nobz with power klaws.

My first game was against my buddies necrons.

Orikan, 20 warriors, 10 immortals,
10 lychguard sword and shield, 2 squads of 4 scarabs
2 spyders, 2 monoliths, triarch stalker. And 5 destroyers.

Sorry I don't have any photos.

He got first turn. We just decided to play kill points. Cause game was for fun. Dawn of war map deployment.
I managed to get 1 warphead with hammer hand. Thank god.
I also rolled on the ork warlord traits. Which was stupid. My warboss became BS3. Wooooooo.......

He moved both monoliths out and forward towards the sides. And shot with everything he could killing about 20-30 boyz.

My turn sucked. Between my move through difficult terrain an run rolls. I moved 5". So that sucked.

Turn 2.
He teleported his 20 warriors via the monolith. Which hurt as he was in rapid fire range. Everything fired. And killed about 20-40 boyz
I didn't notice that his scarabs were able to move that fast so they ended charging me. And because of pile in moves I was able to kill all but 1. 1 stupid scarab left.

So my turn came up. I casted hammer hand because str 5 boyz. Lol. I killed the remaining scarab. Yep. Very eventful.

Turn 3
He shot me with everything again. Killing a good 30-40 boyz. And then he charged me with his 2 spiders. Bad mistake. I managed to kill them on his turn.
My turn.
Waaaaaaaagh!! I hauled all my boyz forward and tried casting hammer hand getting 2 successes. My opponent denied it with 4 stupid dice. 2 6s. So that burned me. But I rolled 12" for my charge. And his immortals. 5 destroyers. Triarch stalker. A monolith got stuck in combat. And he didn't manage a single wound on a single boy. His immortals died. His monolith blew up. I killed a couple destroyers. And forgot that mad doc is str 10 not 8. Otherwise the stalker woulda died also.

His turn he threw his lychguard and Orikan (who finally transformed into a C'tan) into the brawl.

Now. This was why we had the match. Cause no one has been able to kill his 10 lychguard plus Orikan.
And we figured that boyz upon boyz would be the best bet.

So he managed to kill about 10 boyz this combat. I retaliate and kill the stalker. I killed all but 1 destroyer. And put 105 dice against his lunch guard. 20 saves. 3++ rerolling 1s. Followed by a 4+ res. I only killed a single guy. Orikan failed to kill a nob in challenge.

And then on my turn I cast hammer hand. It goes off. Combat goes on. Orikan kills a nob. Lychguard failed to wound anyone. I put 105 dice again into them. Pulling 50 wounds!!!
He lost 6 guys only.

The next turn. Combat was all that happened. He killed another nob with Orikan. And lychguard failed to wound. I strike back and put 40 wounds on him. To which. I killed the remaining 2. And the wounds carried over nearly killing orikan. To which. My nobz struck. And slained him.

After that he called it as all he had was a monolith and 20 warriors. But I still had about 40 boyz 6 nobz. All my hqs. Minus a warphead who killed himself.

Waaagh victory!!

Part 2 is coming soon. Vs daemon kin.

Looks like a fun game! The lych guard can actually get a lot meaner than that. If they have another character to accept the challenge than you can just have re-rollable 2+ on orikan and then with their relic(some orb? forget the name) they have a re-rollable 4+ for one turn.

Basically that unit is unkillable with regular attacks. Orikan should be able to tank 144 wounds the first turn and 72 after that. Just madness.

It looked like a fun game though! I would suggest taking 20 hard boys in the mob. The reason is because that charge on turn 2 where you only killed one scarab, often times a few boys with 4+ will allow you to survive enough attacks that the pile in will allow you to hit back.

I found that hard boyz would be worse than having extra boyz.
The scarabs oy killed a couple boyz. The reason I failed to kill them all was because he attacked right on the side of the board. And I only get a 3" pile in. I killed all but 1 and my nobz were unable to strike back because no model was in base contact.

I will try to have the other game up tonight

So they killed 5 boys lets say? If you had two hard boys mixed in over there you would have two more orks (more than likely) to swing back and they (again, more than likely) would have taken out the scarab base. I've found that mostly my green tide falls to having too few orks, in the right place, not too few orks over all.

Maybe you're meta is different and everyone comes loaded with AP 3 stuff. Even if that's the case, I would suggest keeping 20 or so in the middle of your tide, so after the front rows are knocked down the hard boys are hitting in front during close combat. It only takes a handful of chaos spawn to kill an absurd number of naked boys because of 3' pile in. Also, if you face an army with a ton of low AP strength 6 weapons (eldar, tyranids) you'll be thanking your lucky stars that you bought them.

And why does one boss have both the ragnar choppa and a power claw?

I don't have the book with me but he has a 2+ natural and then zhandrek can let the unit he's in re-roll ones, or maybe it's a relic? I don't play it but I have an occasional opponent that plays it.

Nice game. Mad dok's s4 bae, so no mistake here. 4 attacks base, though. Like a boss

Orikan does not have a 2+, he's just a Cryptek with a 3+.
Obyron has a 2+, but he's a Lord, no squad buffing powers.
They are not the same character.

That's correct, sorry. So the squad has both of them allowing the re-rollable 2+. Mystery solved.
