You look off to a good start, but there is a TON of that model left untouched. For such a big an expensive model, maybe go back and give the gems, vents, and lining some attention, at least.

It's not bad as-is, but would definitely benefit from more detail work as said.

You've done a fine job on the mini so far, but I don't know if I'd call it finished just yet. The gaps between the panels are just begging to be pin washed. As others have said, you should definitely paint up the gemstones, too.

I'm afraid I have to agree. Looks like an excellent start, but the gems need painting, and so on - maybe the engine intakes too.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Ink the gaps and groves, ink the engine intakes, ink all around the gems then paint the gems...

Also a general tip about colour: for correct colour schemes cheat and use business logos.. eg: if you need to ask "do grey and yelllow go together" then think of a business brand logo that uses grey and yellow and see what 3rd colour they utilised... and do gems in that colour... I would have to say that I can't be sure I know any grey yellow logo combos in real companies other than the "bing" logo... which might mean they do not go well together.. but still

Edit.. found this site it is using yellow grey and strong blue as the third colour.. seems blue goes well with grey yellow

I don't paint the blisters on elder vehicles as gems, since in the fluff they aren't usually gems. I have gone back and painted the intakes a light gray, which ended up looking more white. I am not a big fan of doing extreme highlight edging. I know most people out there prefer the "eavy metal" style of highlighting up to white, or near white, but I like it to look a little more realistic and subdued. Unfortunately that doesn't photograph very well. I've study color theory in art college so I have a pretty strong grasp on it, but there are some colors that I don't mix together because to me they look hideous. Yellow/purple and blue/orange are two colors you will probably never see me put together, unless they are in very small doses. Thank you all for your positive suggestions. I may or may not go back and do a light edge highlight on the outline of the vehicle. On future Yme-loc vehicles I'll probably paint the guns white, or light gray to break it up a little. One of the reasons I did the vehicle in mostly gray without breaking it up with a lot of other colors is I wanted to accentuate the size of the vehicle on the table.

I don't personally think it's "extreme edge highlighting" that will break this model..

I know what you mean about style but the "use an airbrush onto undercoat and use stencils" style (if it is a style) isn't brilliant to the eye either..

I think it would benefit from slightly stronger contrast and recess inking and edge plate highlighting in white and gem (I know they are not all "gems" but the bubbly bits)

As - is it does not read as a completed model. Highlights, wear, scratches, details - any of those would help.

I understand not going up to white with your highlights - not everyone loves that level of pop. And while to each his own on color theory combos, I can tell you that all the recessed areas of the model, all the nooks and crannies, would NOT be the same tone of grey as the large flat panels. That's not how light works. If you want the model to feel real, there has to be a play of color grade in some regard. There are many ways to do this: banding, inking, dipping (extreme inking), highlighting, wet blending, etc. Here though, I just see a gray model with a canopy and a few panel sections painted. That's how it reads in the picture.

A pin wash with oil paint to make the lines come out a bit more would go a long way.

Maybe some glow on the gun to break from all the grey.

Like some mentionned, maybe a more metallic look for vents and engines?

Looks like naked plastic and some yellow stripes. I can tell there is some nice shading and application of the grey, but it is hard to tell in the picture.

I would imagine, like most people in this thread, if you were in a game and saw this tank you could very well think it was barely finished.

The tone of the grey and yellow are very cool, but just needs something to make it pop a little more. A couple vents or another decal somwhere.
