Hey guys,

So now that I have finally received my long awaited Veteran only army, I actually have no idea how to run it! I'm curious to see what everyone is planning for their 1st Company Task Forces.

So far everything I've tried either ends up with a huge Achilles's Heel, like no AA or not enough AT, or is majorly short on bodies. Sternguard with combi's get very expensive very quickly, and Terminators are still balls for their points unless you want to run a Land Raider with some TH/SS bros in it.

The closest I've come to a satisfying list is Pedro + Honour Guard and 4 pods of Sternguard with 5 combis each.

Thoughts?

Anyone ever considered pair this formation with the Libirius formation? At least one Libby will roll on Telepathy right? Let the 1st Company guys deep strike / droppod in, -2 Ld to the intended enemy units then psychic sherik them to death What's surviving will have to face the those preferred enemy special ammo and/or Thurnder Hammer or PF in the subsequent phase / turn.

I’m knocking around a few ideas on how to do it personally.

Full 10 man SG squad in pod. Either just a pair of HFs, with the possible addition of 3-c-meltas. Combat squad out of the pod (3 units right there) kill stuff.

5 man tactical terminator squad. AsC, chainfist. They might not be the best things out there, but I like ‘em. Points are a little more reasonable now.

5 man VV squad, CC toys TBD based on points. JPs, moving up with the rest of my army. I had some good luck with these guys in the last book, should be better now.

From a pure power POV, I think SG are still where it’s at. Full squads in pods. I like a more well rounded fluffy army, so will be using other stuff.
