I have been looking for a good solo rule set that allows mixed infantry and armor. My tentative plan is to buy a FOW OF box and base them individually hopefully with a larger base that can house a squad to play OF as needed.

Nuts! Caught my attention as a potential rule set. Anyone have experience with the set, how well it incorporates tanks, can you play all tanks? How is the game flow?

I've played Nuts! and I enjoyed it. It's a game that's better played at squad or platoon-level rather than company or battalion-level like Flames of War, so you won't need as many miniatures.

That said, when I played Nuts! we only used infantry, so I'm not sure how it handles tanks. I suppose you could play all tanks if you wanted to, but I'm not sure if that's really the game's strength - but having not done it, I can't say for sure. Either way, your model count for Nuts!, whether with infantry or tanks, is probably going to be a lot lower than your model count for a FOW game.

I've run volksgrenadiers and the panzer grenadiers, from Nuts and both are really good lists for having that mix. Having seen the Berlin book though I think it may have a better list for you there
