I don't believe it to be a conversion. I think its just the empire long rifle bit.

Yes; every bits are as-is, no modifications were done.

The only custom part was the striping on the right arm and left leg.

Looks solid so far! :-) why not try highlighting the miniature? Take every colour on their and paint a lighter shade on the raised parts.

Perhaps a different base rim color too?
