It's been a while since I've seen a discussion of this topic on Dakka, and I don't want to necro a thread.

Here's my picks for the major roles of the Heresy, whether it's be made as a movie series or a television series:

Lion El'Jonson = Chris Hemsworth
Fulgrim = Jason Isaacs
Perturabo = Josh Brolin
Jaghatai Khan = Tadanobu Asano
Leman Russ = Liev Schrieber
Rogal Dorn = Jeremy Irons
Konrad Curze = Karl Urban
Sanguinius = Jared Padelecki
Ferrus Manus = Matt Damon
Angron = Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson.
Roboute Guilliman = Colin Firth
Mortarion = George Stevenson
Magnus the Red = Liam Neeson
Horus = Christian Bale
Lorgar = Jason Statham
Vulkan = Idris Elba
Corax = Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Alpharius Omegon = Sebastian Stan
Sevatar = Jon Huertas
Sigismund = Hugh Jackman
Luther = Stephan Dillane
Zahariel = Sam Worthington
Kharn = HughJackman
Loken = Ray Stevens
Abbadon = Tom Hardy
Torgaddon = Gerard Butler
Erebus = Mark Strong
Kor Phaeron = Ron Perlman
Argel Tal = Zachary Quinto
Malcador = ian MacKellan
Garro = Michael Fassbender
Saul Tarvitz = Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Euphrati Keeler = Zoe Seldana
Sinderman = Anthony Head
Ignace Karkasy = Simon Pegg
Ahriman = Jason Momoa

It's not limited to just the primarchs, as marines and regular humans played just as large roles in the grand scheme of things.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.
Rule #2 is Do Cool S*%* Even If It's Tactically Inadvisable
Winning is something like Rule #17.

I can't even fathom how good Björnsson would be as Angron. The man is basically a Primarch in real life for feths sake.

"Rogal Dorn = Jeremy Irons"

Were you reading my mind sir?
In all seriousness, good casting. If Michael Clark Duncan wasn't dead, I would want to see him as the Emprah personally. Just imagine him reading off
"They are my Space Marines...
And they shall know no fear!"

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

Simon Pegg as Ignace is not something I could have come up with on my own, but is fething brilliant.

Perhaps not technically a Marine Chapter anymore, but the Flame Falcons would be pretty creepy to fight.

"Boss, we waz out lookin' for grub when some of them Spice Marines showed up and shot all the lads."

"Right. Well, did you at least use the burnas?"

"We tried, but the gits was already on fire."

"...Kunnin'."

Can we have a short film of just that? I would buy it.

The actor who played Temudjin in Mongol as Khan.

That would be Tadanobu Asano

That's actually a brilliant idea. I was thinking of the guy who plays Sulu in the new Star Trek movies, but Asano is a much better choice.

Okay, so I remember something like this popping up before so I did some digging and found my post from back there:

Well here we go in no particular order...

Sanguinus: Jared Leto, everybody's favorite pretty boy... Plus fight club
Lion: Benedict Cumberbatch, just feels like a match to me
Vulkan: Idris Elba, quite good at playing a compassionate badass as seen in Rocknrolla, Ghost Rider 2, Pacific Rim (ish), arguably Thor and Thor 2
Night Haunter: Edward Norton, Primal Fear is still one of my favorite movies with a character dealing with dual personalities (despite the fact he was faking it)
Guilliman: Mark Strong, why? Space Marine.
Horus: Mads Mikaelson because reasons
Mortarion: Guy Pearce, he is talented and naturally has a bit of a gaunt look to him
Angron: Tom Hardy, his acting in Warrior, Bronson (this alone should get him the role), Peaky Blinders, Dark Knight Rises... He's a good rage machine.
Dorn: Michael Ironsides, because reasons
Perturabo: Daniel Craig, his James Bond, cold and calculating (to an extent). Leave the womanizer and suits at home, bring us Skyfall's Bond
Ferrus Manus: Michael Shannon
Khan: Tadanobu Asano, because of Mongol, watch Mongol.
Corax: Chris Evans, merging Captain America, Snowpiercer, and Sunshine
Fulgrim: That arrogance...that charisma... Cillian Murphy or Brad Pitt
Leman Russ: Khal Drogo (don't know the actor's name and too lazy to look it up) or Gerard Butler for that Scottish accent and Beowulf merged with 300 and maybe some Gamer
Lorgar: Ralph Fiennes, bring that fanaticism he had in Red Dragon and put a religious spin on it
Magnus: Sam Rockwell, needs beefing up, but that's what CGI is for
Alpharius/Omegon: This one stumped me for a bit but in the end, Christian Bale namely because of The Prestige.
Malcador: John Hurt, was there ever any doubt?
Emperor: Hugo Weaving brings his Elrond A Game.

Then again, with the amount of CGI this would take, the only right answer would be Andy Serkis as EVERYONE.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.
