Havent seen much talk about these guys, but having gotten the new codex I'm definitely keen to give them a shot. 5pt lightning claws and cheaper melee weapons all around is great compared to their prior costs, and heroic intervention has become more useful than the previous incarnation of it. At the same time though, that makes me a bit hesitant to add any ICs to them, but I think a jump chaplain or captain could still be worthwhile. So has anyone else given these dudes some new thought?

I fielded them a little under the last book. They did pretty well. I used a jump librarian with them (who rocked). They are still very expensive for guys who die just as fast as tac marines. Keep them out of LOS, or stuck in CC. The point drop on the CC toys can either be used to make them more killy, or more economical. As always, finding the balance with them is the tough part.

I just built a unit of 6 with 5 pairs of lightning claws and a sergeant with thunder hammer and storm shield. I have no idea how good that will be, but my space marines were lacking in close combat versus chaos and I think this will even things up a bit! Most importantly though, the models look great and the kit gives you a whole heap of weapons and other bits.
