Veteran actor Sir John Hurt has said he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The 75-year-old, who was Oscar-nominated for his role in 1980's The Elephant Man, said he would continue working despite the diagnosis.
"I am undergoing treatment and am more than optimistic about a satisfactory outcome, as indeed is the medical team," he told the Press Association.
He added he would "continue to focus on his professional commitments".

Ugh, at his age no matter how optimistic you are, things can go south quickly. If he has to take chemo, his chances of living are significantly lowered, unless he has the immune system of a Greek God.

Been a huge John Hurt fan since a young age due to his masterful acting as Caligula in I Claudius from the 70s.

He's one of the few actors that I can say that, even if I didn't like a particular movie he was in, I liked him in that movie.
