So I'm finally getting round to updating my eldar list for 7th ed/new codex (I'll miss you fire prisms) and would appreciate some feedback on a potential list for a 1500 point tournament I have coming up. The one thing I'm concerned about is the reliance on reserve rolls for the outflanking and deep striking units (wraithguard, hornets and walkers). I considered a wraithknight but it seemed like a bit too much of a points sink at 1500. Thanks guys!

CAD - Eldar

Farseer Skyrunner with spirit stone - 130

5 jetbikes with scatter lasers - 135

5 jetbikes with scatter lasers - 135

3 jetbikes - 51

5 wraithguard with wraithcannons - 160

5 wraithguard with wraithcannons - 160

7 warp spiders - 133

2 hornets with 2 pulse lasers each - 160

2 war walkers with 2 scatter lasers each - 120

2 war walkers with 2 scatter lasers each - 120

Allied detachment - Dark Eldar

Archon with webway portal - 95

5 kabalite warriors - 40

Raider with dark lance - 60

Total - 1499

A WK at 1500 is pretty much gonna cut out your DE/Wraithguard delivery.

As for Reserves, I get clobbered on fickle Reserve dice rolls, so you do the smart thing: Farseer out - Autarch in. For the Psy, the farseer, by itself, really gives a tiny buff, and some good psy-denial. Not game changing stuff. Otherwise, and though the codex changed, I've been running tourney eldar for over a year, nearly the same list, and the Autrach significantly is better for dealing with Drop Pod & Reserve adjustments for spiders, jetbikes, walkers. Sometimes it's good to have them on table Turn 1, often, not. Much of my list matches what you're doing: Walkers for Outflank, Spiders maybe Deep Striking, etc.

And nothing puts you behind the 8 ball like one third of your Reserves or more, still taking a smoke break.

Also, I am going to have my jetbike model be a Scatbike for those extra Scatlas shots, and my autarch as a footer, equipped with a Fusion gun to deploy with my FireDs in a tank.

The last adjustment I'd make putting an exarch in your spiders, for the Iron Resolve. Swapping the Autarch for Farseer ought to yield the points.

This is a good list, give the war walkers star engines and drop one squad. It can now fleet 4" after shooting. A squad of 2 is plenty. Thank me later.

PLEASE use the points you saved and get dscythes for the WG they IGNORE COVER and kill on the same roll those normal ones use just to *HIT*. 3+ to hit or 3+ to kill.. hmmm..

I am in 2 minds about ur farseer the guy above is right autarch if ur reserves are ur meat n potatos.. a 2+ is TWICE as good as a 3+ mathematicaly

3+ is 66% or 4/6

2+ is 84% or 5/6.

Lol maths are hard.

As for the list you can keep the farseer if you take div and hope for scryer's gaze, otherwise the autarch is greater reserve manipulation.

Could we say the Reserve Roll failure percentage is half with an autarch? Which is not the same as twice as successful.

Murhpy's Law kinda thing:
Today, I took a farseer out of my list's latest iteration, for the autarch instead. I Reserved just my BLnace WarW and ScatLas WWs, deploying spiders, 13 Scatbikes, all else. Rolled a pair of fours for Reserve.
Opponent's farseer would go on to cast Invis on his big unit of 9 Reavers & Farbike.

So? Would you have rolled 3 more sixes? Chances are probably not.

Just pointing out the small irony of my switching to an autarch, that didn't help nor hinder me.

And the opponent's use of a farseer, who did greatly help his army ...

... Not my having a reasonable chance of Deny the Witch. And, you're correct, three sixes would be a 1 in 216 chances throw.
