I could only find the old version of it for sale on eBay, and I'm looking to sell my 2007 version but I have no idea how much its worth as its 'sold out' on GW, I'm guessing that means discontinued, and can't find anywhere else that sells it. I think it was £35 new back when it came out.

I've seen it for sale for quite a bit less than RRP. Then again, you could check eBay as well - just be sure to "watch" them so you can see if they actually sell for the asking prices..

Cheers, as I say only the old version seems to be going on eBay which did surprise me. Just didn't want to give away a freebie if they were sought after.

Is this "Mighty Empires" the tile set of strategic terrain mapping hexagons?

I have that set and the similar Planetary Empires that was basically the 40K version. They are nice sets but to be honest I have never used them for a game.

GW didn't help by providing gak campaign rules and zero support after the release.

That isn't hate speaking, BTW. I still think something good could be done with them but it will depend on the owner rather than GW.

I think the original retail price was £30 per set, not including the Hive City optional tiles, and went up later.

With luck I think you might get £20 for a complete set especially if the tiles are still on sprue, etc.

Ok cheers, well most are still on sprue some are off and painted. Looked a cool set but never really got round to painting it. As you say they never supported it and its a waste that after only a few years of it coming out its already discontinued just because they probably didn't have a section to fit it in on their horribly minimalist online-store website.

Given a decent set of campaign rules it would be a very nice way to run a Fantasy or 40K campaign. But GW never bothered.

Have a look on eBay, though. I already have both sets so I would not be interested myself but there could be someone with an idea for running a campaign.

We used the Planetary Empires campaign set for a little while, but it was bland. The Campaign rules from the Badab War books are excellent!

Yes, the "campaign rules" in Planetary Empires are only a name. There isn't any real rules content.

If you're still looking to get rid of it, I'm actually looking to pick up a set, specifically the mountain tiles. Feel free to PM me if you're interested in shipping to the US.
