Black Templar Recruit Undergoing Surgeries
|
Hi guys, iv been building my Black Templars army for about 3 months now and with the release of the new codex i think its about time to add some Sword Bretherin/Vanguard Veterans to the mix, I have some ideas for some unique conversions but before I actually glue anything together i was hoping somebody would know what would be the best way to kit them out i.e all with power weapons, chain-swords, two-by-four with a nail in it? So basically how do you guys think is the best way to build them to keep them ass fluffy as possible but at the same time make an effective unit on the battle field. oh yeah will post pics somewhere when they are finished.
thanks guys

Also very interested ITT as I've just started templars myself.
At first glance, certainly 1+ of melta bombs and thunder hammer, and then a few power swords - IME with Orks, when fighting MEQ that handful of AP3 or better will do far more damage than all your regular attacks.
Is there any reason to take a power sword over a claw? Likewise, does anyone run these guys in a vehicle? And what sort of support characters do you attach? Been looking at allied Sisters for 25pt Zealot Priests which is both fluffy and effective

Use honor guard to represent them instead.
way better stats for the cost, and if you wanted to be fluffy you werent using jump packs anyways.

oh yeah defo no jump packs, i was planning on throwing them in a drop pod and letting them get down to business that way,i suppose they could act as honour gaurd in some cases just i like the sound of veterans being guys who have seen it all 100 times before and get the job done. just what weapons to give them is the tricky one, i was thinking power swords and grave pistols for good measure or would just chainswords and pistols be enough. Thoughts?

The honor guard are supposedly the best fighters in the chapter.
