Just asking for a rule clarification before I actually build the relevant models.

A number of units in the HH lists have a peculiar wording I do not quite understand. For example, Legion Command Squad:

Any member of the Legion Command Squad may exchange their Chainsword/Combat Blade or Bolt Pistol for one of the following:

<list of weapons such as plasma pistol and power sword>

Members of the Legion Command Squad come equipped with both chainsword/combat blade and bolt pistol. Does this mean I have permission to make one exchange per model (so, either swap out the melee weapon or the pistol), or could I replace a model's combat blade and bolt pistol for a power sword and a plasma pistol?

Lord Commander in a Plush Chair

If that is an exact quote then 1 per model.

The wording is or, not and/or.a

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
