Good day to everyone who is watching this video. My name is Ivan Smolkin, Alexei Kunshin is here with me today, and in this video I would like to address the European community.
A little bit about us to begin with: I am into wargames since 20__ year, and had been to numerous tournaments and other events dedicated to this hobby in Russia and beyond. For the last two years I am an author of one of the most popular video blogs about tabletop wargames.
The man next to me also an experienced Warhammer player. In 2008 he came 8th in the ETC event as a member of Russian team. Later he switched to cyber sport, and now works in Russian E-Sport Federation.
We’ve met this February, and got an idea to create the first tabletop wargame event in Europe that would target the wide audience. We want to create a league, with each match being streamed and commented online. Based on the resources we had and with support of our friends we created a studio in Saint-Petersburg specifically for this task. Soon we will also get the website, which is in testing now.
The league will include 6-8 participants from those who got the invitation. So far we have the best players from North-east of Russia. Although we do not want to stop there, and would like to see experienced players from Europe, who would be willing to come to Saint-Petersburg for 2-3 months.
This is how long one season lasts. There also might be those who are not ready to live here for several months, although would be able to come to Saint-Petersburg once in two weeks on regular basis. For example, players from Finland, Danmark, Sweden or Baltic countries.
The commentators working on the project are trying to speak English as best as they can.
The new season starts in the beginning of July, and until then we will entertain our viewers by playing exhibition matches every week or two. On 29th of May 2015 we played our first exhibition match, and you can find the link to it in this video.
Now it is very important for us to get some feedback from the community. We already found some shortcomings, like the sound problems and operators’ work, and will try to make corrections in the next months. Now it is important for us to get the feedback from the foreign community so we know what are you interested in, and to see what could be done better.
It is worth mentioning that for now the project is not commercialized, and there is at least 5 people working on every release. That is why any help is welcome if you believe that this project has a potential. It will allow to make more releases, and to upgrade our small studio.
In our first match we streamed the game of necrons against orks. The next match will take place this Wednesday, the 3rd of June, 18.00 Central European Time.
For now we offer you to watch the broadcast from the 29th. So have a good time watching it, and see you in our future broadcasts!
