Subject: Best killa Kan weapon?

This has probably been asked a thousand times but what is the best weapon to give a squad of ork killa Kans? Is it best to give them all the same weapon and does the weapon I should use depend on the army I'm facing or is their just an overall good one for any situation? I recently aquired 6 Kans an I can't decide what to equip them with.
thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Grot zookas or rokkets, are my personal favorite to use. Its funny when you fire 6 small blast markers at something.

I say go either Grotzookas or Rokkits. Benefit of Killa Kans is their BS3, so you will end up hitting more often with them than regular orks.
I like Grotzookas though because of the ability to hit multiple targets, and the fact that it is multiple shots. The problem is short range. So you will have to move them up to be able to use them, or hope that your enemy comes to you.
Rokkits dont suffer from the short range issue, but at a single shot each, it seems like you are using an expensive model as just a rokkit platform. Might as well take a trukk with a rokkit on it and then you can at least be more maneuverable
EDIT: ap3 comment removed, thanks for checking that.

I don't believe Grotzookas are AP 3. I believe they are str 6 ap 4 heavy 2 small blast.

Correct. That said, a million S6 blast templates can murder even armoured infantry chop-chop.
It's a weapon unique to the Killa Kan (and not really duplicated by anything else in the orky arsenal), and it's a damn effective one - both good reasons to use it.
Its biggest weaknesses - it has a short(ish) range, but then all orky stuff is close-range compared to other people's kit, and the fact that it has a blast. This means that you can't snap-fire it, and killa kanz can end up being reduced to snap shots only quite often.
I would agree with the above, though. Rokkits if you want them to play tank hunter, or grotzookas for general purpose infantry clobbering.

Thanks, I never really considered Grotzookas due to their range but I'll definatly try them out.

Grotzookas were AWESOME back in 5th Edition. They're still good, but when Assault changed from 6" to a possible 12", 18 inches suddenly became a LOT closer range than it was previously. So they're a bit harder to use now.
But yeah spamming S6 blasts is a ton of fun, it's a great weapon.

I'd like to put in a vote for rokkits, they're great for plinking away at marine-equivalents, and they can also be used to start stripping hull points from light vehicles.

For rokkits, I like buggies. They can outflank and get to side/rear armor and are much faster and also are cheaper. Oh and their rokkits are TL. Although someone with better than math than me, whats better? TL BS2 or BS3?
So if you want a cheap rokkit platform, go with warbuggies.
EDIT: with some basic math I have surmised that TL BS2 is better than BS3, but only marginally.

Krazed Killa Kan
|
Grotzookas are probably the most powerful weapon on the Kanz as it can dump a lot of high str cupcakes onto the enemy infantry. No other kan weapon (except the insanely high risk skorcha) can match the raw wounding potential of a grotzooka.
Rokkits are 2nd but its a lot easier to use rokkits in a practical battle as you will often find yourself stuck snap shooting or out of grotzooka range. Deffkoptas, buggies, trukks, or even battlewagons seem like a much more capable rokkit platform. Tankbustas are also crazy good rokkit spammers. Instead of rokkit kanz you can just bring 5 kannon mek guns to spam long range str 8 AP3 shooting and the mek gun crew is WAY more durable and much cheaper.
Kanz in general are rather bad as somebody in GW got the apparently got the bad touch from a Kan at some point in their life and decided the AV11 walker needed a massive nerfing. The Ork codex is really stacked on heavy support which makes fitting them in hard.

And for your other question, yes, you should arm the whole unit the same way, otherwise you're likely to be wasting some shots - either against targets they can't hurt, or targets they're complete overkill against.
Modelling-wise, I strongly recommend magnetising the shooty arms so that you can swap weapons.

I would agree with the above, though. Rokkits if you want them to play tank hunter, or grotzookas for general purpose infantry clobbering.
You can also get every gun Kans can get on Grot Tanks. Cheaper, no morale test nonsense (which means no random shakens and so you can always fire the grotzooka), "tank" type instead of "get path blocked by 1 infantry model" type, trades the now terrible Kan Klaw (WS2 DCCW were awesome and GW should feel ashamed for removing them) for a 5++, elites instead of Heavy...
Theres very little reason to field Kans over Tanks from a rules perspective. Maybe the rerollable 2d6 random movement or something. They're even easy as to build from scratch
Theres also Grot Mega Tanks if you want to go real crazy with that idea, but I reckon Grot Tanks are the sweet spot
As for the best gun, Grotzooka by a landslide. Theres little we can kill with Rokkits we can't kill with Lootas, and Grotzookas will *murder* any infantry they come across

I mean, it's also the best BS on a KMB orkz can buy. Who cares if you role gets hot If the kan was going to die from being shot with mostly anything anyway. Shoot something mean with AP2 and make it take its other saves.
