Hey folks, just bought the Corvette and keen to use it.
I have a query
When you start the game, i assume, you start with no energy?
When firing the Corvette, does your promary weapon use energy? Im thinking no? Is the primary weapon Range only Range 3-5
When i place energy on say, a weapon upgrade, the tokens, stay on there and are only removed when the shots are fired?
Can energy carry forward, turn to turn?
Thanks
Sorry for the questions, its a very complex ship.
Regards

Yes. Charged guns remain charged until fired. I'll spend my first two turns going ahead one to get my guns and energy reserves charged.
The Corvette isn't a good use of the points, though.

Don't have the rules in front of me but from what I remember:
-The main gun doesn't require energy to fire - but you can spend energy to when firing it to generate an effect (re-roll attack dice?).
-Secondary weapons must have energy tokens on them in order to fire and you discard those tokens when firing (some of them I think have addition effects if you spend more energy also). The energy stays on those guns from turn to turn until you fire them. There is a maximum amount of energy they can store.
-Energy can be saved up in the engineering section (rear section) of the Corvette up to the limit. Any excess energy is discarded at the end of the turn.
So yeah generally you spend the first couple of turns moving slow in order to generate your energy and power everything up to the max. Otherwise you can dump the gas containers to produce extra energy when required. A fully charged Corvette can put out alot of firepower - but not as much as you think.
We found the Corvette a bit disapointing when it hit the table. It's not particularily deadly and relatively easy to kill. It has the potential to shred slower ships at range but against more agile ships (Tie swarms) it's pretty weak. Once those swarms get into range 1, the Corvette gets dropped pretty fast. Especially in scenario play where the Imperial player is generally trying to just kill your Corvette and ignores the rest of your ships. You really need effective fighter cover to screen it from enemy ships. Granted we only played the campaign where the tactical choices seemed to be; either move slow to get the most energy or move fast to try and reach an objective point (ie: fly of a board edge). Moving fast can also give you the potential to crush enemy ships (which can be very effective). In our experience however, a wise opponent will not often give you the opportunity to collide with their ships.
We've shelved our Corvette's until the Raider comes out and we can see how more balanced epic format plays.

It's always cool as a center-piece. The campaign that comes with also looks cool.

Does start with full energy now (ship, not upgrades). Also range 4 and 5 only confer +1 defence die.
