Hello! Been playing space wolves for quite a while now and I`v started thinking about making a costume wolf lord. Though I already have ALOT of the GW thunderwolves even done some slight conversions to a few of them in order to vary the poses more. But for the new wolf lord i would like somthing more "unik" yet somewhat in line with the GW models (so no bloodcrusher conversion) and therefore I have looked around trying to find some good alternative model/convertion and so far the models that seems most fitting are the "micro art studio great wolves" or the "mythicast thunderwolves" yet the micro art studio ones appears to be very small and the mythicast once are no longer for sell at their homepage, and I just can`t seem to find any good conversions that doesn`t require you to sculpt the entire wolf. :( There fore I`m wondering if any one here at dakka dakka possesses the knowledge of a nice conversion or some good alternative model! Any tips or ideas would be very appreciated!

Mr dandy's Thunderwolves have been around since before GW made models for them and I still like them more. They come in a few poses and from what I've seen they are fairly easy to modify.

Thanks! Remeber looking at these back in 5th ed, I didnt like the cartoony look back then but and havent looked in to them since but I`m starting to think that with the right paint job they could be a fitting centerpiece!

I've seen a few done really well, and with ice bases done with water effects too. Looks like they were running across some frozen tundra.

You don't like GW's own Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf model? That would seem the obvious way to get something a bit flasher than the normal thunderwolves but still matching the look.

Hmm, the other option would be to not put him on a wolf at all, and instead go for something like a polar bear - but that perhaps doesn't seem fluffy for a Space Wolves army...
